Randis

Randis

Randis is a self-proclaimed shoe whore and newly addicted to her iPhone since she is finally up to date with today’s technology.

She is a transplant from Temple, New Hamphisre with their one grocery store, paved road, and farmland as far as the eye can see! She moved here with her family at the age of 6 and has now been in Florida for 20 years! And yes for all you mathematicians that makes her 26.

She is a starving artist trapped in the body of an insurance agent. ”You need insurance you call me!” is her motto. While she has had many jobs ranging from waitress, HR director, artist assistant and now insurance agent; she learns as she goes just like many things in life. She was however, lucky enough to meet Peter, creator of Giggaheim, along with Doug at her previous employment as HR director and they have been friends ever since.

Though they learned quick enough that trying to give her advice is fruitless (as Randis many be the most stubborn person you will meet) she was not able to ignore the advice of being a part of Giggaheim Podcast.

Randis may not seem like you typical geeky girl, but don’t let her fool you she kicks ass at Tetris! She is also involved in graphic novels, movies and the blunt advice on how to pick up chicks! She will throw in her two cents on how and what to say, and most importantly when!

Ert

Ert

Ert is proud to be a Buckeye! She is from a musically inclined family, who let her watch a lot of TV and movies growing up. Her big sister took her to see “Star Wars: A New Hope” when it first hit the screens. Ert must’ve loved it, because her sister took her not once, but three times! She’s been a sci-fi geek ever since.

Although Pong was the first gaming console she remembers in the house, Coleco Vision was the first electronic devise she considered “hers”. Ert’s favorite games were, “Ladybug”. “Donkey Kong”, “Gorf” and “Zaxxon”. She has moved on to the XBOX 360, and hasn’t looked back! On her days off, Ert can be found sitting in front of the TV playing “RockBand”, “Guitar Hero”, “Burnout: Paradise City” or “Halo 3″. She also enjoys being a sniper in “Battlefront II”, and long walks on the beach.

Doug Miller

Doug Miller

Doug Miller, a self-confessed sci fi, space and tech geek, is a proud native of Sarasota, Florida. As a young child, Doug was known for his love of taking apart anything mechanical he could find to see how it worked, and very occasionally, putting things back together. Many remember him for his failed attempt at a Guinness World Record in the category of “Longest Duration of Hate Mail” which involved a series of angry letters sent to Director Nelson Shin after they killed off Optimus Prime…the first time.

After two years of study as a communications major in college, Doug left and ended up at IBM, getting to travel the country on projects for their Global Services division. The time spent there would reinforce his love of technology and passion to learn everything he could in relation to it. After his time at Big Blue, continued opportunities in the technology field would present themselves including work at an emergency power services engineering firm, and later, a job for a national online retailer. It was during his time in internet retail that he became friends with fellow worker Peter Schmeiser, founder of The Giggaheim, and Randis, fellow contributor to The Giggaheim Podcast. Finding Peter to be a kindred spirit in sense of humor and fellow fan of all things in the realm of geekdom, Doug readily admits that many hours of productivity at work were sacrificed to the necessity of discussion of the latest news regarding various pieces of tech and the endless quotations of lines from movies.

When not scouring the web, Doug can be usually be found either at the racetrack indulging his love for nostalgia drag racing and indycar racing, at the ballpark rooting for the Tampa Bay Rays or at his self proclaimed favorite spot on earth, Walt Disney World in Orlando. He is thrilled to be a part of the Giggaheim crew.

Peter Schmeiser (Bassoonjedi)

Peter Schmeiser (Bassoonjedi)

Peter Schmeiser – Giggaheim Director:

As a useless bassoon enthusiast, Peter accepted a Presidential Performance Scholarship to the elite music school at West Virginia University and graduated with his Bachelors in 1998. In a desperate act to escape his student loans, he decided to study bassoon further at Kent State University and earned his Masters in Performance. After getting married he immigrated to Florida to enjoy the good climate and rebuild his geek empire.

Peter is normally answering several questions everyday about continuity of the DC universe, the status of Spider-man, who has been cast in the latest movies, and what counts as canon in Star Wars. Pete enjoys voicing his opinions on the latest comic books, playing video games, and sharing his wealth of useless comic book knowledge with his friends. The Giggaheim was made to share that.

The idea to have a central gathering point where fans of all varieties can create their own space, and be able to display their fandom powered his dream to create a museum in which to store it. When he isn’t shooting zombies in the head, he’s usually corrupting today’s youth by training them to be concert musicians, or he’s helping businesses learn and deploy internet technologies.
